Despite the fact I can’t play an instrument or hold a tune, music is a constant in my life. It is always bouncing around my head, often existing tracks by real musicians or sometimes songs I make up in my own mind. They get stuck and are on repeat, until my brain shifts to the next thing.

About 3 years ago I started to write down and collect some of the lyrics to these made-up compositions. The text included in this exhibition is an exact copy of what I wrote down in that moment of time or an evolved (flushed out) version. The outcome is a mish-mash of poetry and/or a jumble of words. Somewhere along the journey a theme revolving around girls/women materialised.

Each of the artworks is a visual response to the text. Sometimes a literal representation, sometimes more ambiguous, allowing you to add to or alter the meaning of the narrative.
