Safa Takla is a Cairns-based artist whose works on paper and canvas are inspired by nature and its diversity. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he moved to Perth with his family in 1979 and later made Cairns home. His practice focuses on the natural world and uses thought-provoking images to reflect on vulnerable species and the tension between natural and human-made environments. His exhibition Endangered to Extinct was presented at Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns.
