Jilli Manning is a Cairns-based artist whose creative life has been shaped by growing up in Brisbane surrounded by Indigenous artists and activists, and by formative travels to remote communities with her family. Those experiences continue to influence how she views Australia’s landscape and the relationships between people, animals and Country. Her work sits between the simplicity of symbolic representation and the chaos of colour, bringing together bold lines, recurring symbols and an expansive sense of connection.
